Running with the Hounds

The Equestrian team joined the Farmington Hunt Club for its weekly hunt on Thursday, November 1. FHC holds numerous events per year on MSA’s stunning 1,600-acre campus.

MSA students included Cole Larsen, Brian Karch, Dessa Williams, Ainsley Hanson, Summer Smith, Brandon Galvin, and Hao Sandy Xu.

The equestrians utilize MSA’s extensive network of trails built and maintained by Land Management students.

Nearly fifty riders from around Albemarle county participated in the hunt. They were treated to an ideal fall day with foliage at its peak.

The hunt is led by FHC Huntsman Matt Cook. This hunt was particularly enjoyable because a number of the young hounds were on their first hunt. The energy and excitement of these novice hounds added to the thrill of the day.
