SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

The Miller School of Albemarle wishes to recruit a pool of qualified substitute teachers for Spring semester 2022 and beyond. Substitute teachers provide instructional support and classroom management when the regular teacher is absent.

The primary responsibility of a substitute teacher is to implement the lesson plans left by the absent teacher and help to guide students in the successful completion of their daily assignments. Substitute teachers will also be responsible for reporting attendance, and meeting with the classroom teacher’s advisory group during assembly and lunch.

The ideal candidate should have a desire to work with students in different grade levels and in a variety of subject areas. The ability to clearly communicate with students and establish an effective classroom environment are essential.  A background in education is desired, but not required.

Interested candidates should email a cover letter and a current CV to Mary Jo Burke, Director of Faculty and Curriculum.
