Imagine a 1,600-acre classroom where every tree, plant, trail, lake, and stream is a lesson plan, homework assignment, and independent project. This classroom is where one of MSA's most innovative courses is taught. Land Management is an elective course that explores many of the factors that are associated with responsible land management. Employing MSA’s 1,600-acre campus, students study owner and user needs and desires to develop and implement plans for improved utilization and enjoyment of the campus. The course emphasizes stewardship of the land, focusing on sustainable uses and practices. Land Management is an interdisciplinary course bringing together a range of topics that will include: cartography, forestry, preservation, land development, and law.
