Born in Washington, D.C., Rebecca Lilienstern has always enjoyed learning about government and history. If there’s an historical marker on the side of the road, there’s a good chance she’ll stop to read it. Rebecca loves to help students connect history to their own lives.

After earning a B.A. in History from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in History from the University of Illinois, Rebecca taught history, government, and economics at independent and public schools in both Virginia and Texas.

In addition to teaching, Rebecca served as a college counselor for fifteen years, including nine years at St. John’s School in Houston. While in Houston, she had the opportunity to explore everything from NASA Space Exploration to Shakespeare and Film while earning a Master of Liberal Studies at Rice University.

A Virginia Cavaliers fan, Rebecca is excited about being back in the Charlottesville area. She is admiring the mountains, visiting historical sites, and enjoying the amazing local restaurants, like Coconut Thai Kitchen.
