Kristin Daniel

Reading Specialist

BA English, Syracuse University
Doctorate in Special Education, George Washington University

Kristin has been an educator for over twenty years. She earned her bachelors in English from Syracuse University with aspirations of becoming a writer. When she found teaching, she never looked back. She earned her doctorate in special education from George Washington University in 2014 with a focus on working with students that struggled to read and write.

Kristin started her career as a reading and special education teacher working in low-income areas of Washington, DC. She has worked in a variety of roles in independent schools since, including school leadership, instructional coach, and learning specialist.

Kristin believes that by creating strong and loving connections with students, they can each learn and grow. She works hard to create trusting and joyful spaces, where students feel safe and confident to try new and difficult challenges.

Originally from Arlington, Kristin and her husband lived in Seattle for ten years. They recently moved back to Virginia to slow down and be closer to family. Kristin loves to travel and explore new places with her family, and also sit back and read a really good book with a cup of coffee all by herself.
