Aimee Carter
Director of Development
Aimee Carter joined Miller School in 2022 as the Director of Development. Originally from Western Pennsylvania, she moved to Virginia in elementary school and graduated high school in nearby Louisa County. Aimee has a B.S. in Leisure Sport Management from Elon and went on to Ole Miss for her master's in Higher Education Administration. With 22 years of experience in the Charlottesville area, she is working to build upon the philanthropic gift of Samuel Miller by bringing her background in event planning, alumni and constituent engagement, volunteer management, and fundraising at the University of Virginia and local non-profits to the Hill.
Aimee enjoys spending as much of her free time as possible with her favorite people in the world hiking, paddling, camping, and watching sporting events. She and her two kids are avid Pittsburgh (Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates) fans and lovers of all things collegiate sports. Aimee serves as the major gifts committee chair for Bennett's Village, a local non-profit working to bring an all-abilities park to Charlottesville, is active in the local fitness and running community, and leads a women's workout group in her neighborhood.
