MSA’s Board of Trustees hosted a Leadership Meeting with faculty and staff on Friday, April 16. Led by Bill Evanow, the strategic planning session solicited ideas and feedback from teachers and administrators in order to assist in the development of a strategic road map for the school.

Head of School, Mike Drude, commented: “This meeting is exciting and vital as we begin looking towards our 150th anniversary, which is only seven years away! The ideas generated at this meeting will help the board plan appropriately for a Capital Campaign associated with our Sesquicentennial. We must be aligned as an organization as we move forward together to a very bright future.”

In addition to the discussion with MSA employees, each Board of Trustees member, talked briefly about their connection with MSA and why they serve on the Board.

In his remarks, Mark Krebs complimented the MSA faculty and staff: “Without exception, the supportive, caring and yes, loving environment that you as faculty and administrative leaders provide every day, nurtures every one of our students. Your caring “heart” permeates everything you touch, and it is wildly contagious—teaching and modeling acceptance, encouraging critical thought, and celebrating reasoned outcomes as students exercise their minds and their hands.”

The overall purpose of the Leadership Meeting was simple. The goal was to give everyone a chance to familiarize themselves with the ideas identified in the school’s Strategic Road Map and to have an opportunity to share thoughts, ideas, comments, and suggestions about the plans.

The meeting was a great step forward towards the alignment of ideas and a shared vision for the future of MSA.
