Class of 2019
The class of 2019 walked proudly across the Bull Ring on Saturday, May 25 to conclude their journey as Miller School of Albemarle students. Families and friends from around the world attended graduation, and they were treated to an ideal morning.
MSA is a small school where teachers and students have dynamic interactions on a daily basis. Whether in the classroom, in the dorm, or on the playing fields, teachers learn the strengths of each student. This can be felt during graduation when advisors read citations for each graduating senior.
Long-time teacher and coach, Peter Hufnagel, commented: “Graduation is a special day for many reasons. One of the best parts of the day is watching the reaction of families and friends as the advisors read their citations. They are able to see first hand how well teachers know their students and how valued each student is at MSA.”
Head of School, Mike Drude, remarked: “I wish to extend my deepest gratitude, appreciation, and congratulations to the MSA graduating class of 2019! I am so proud of these extraordinary young men and women who exemplify the very best of the Miller School of Albemarle. This is a graduating class of high achievement, and they will be long remembered for their kindness, leadership, and scholarship. The faculty and I wish the members of the class of 2019 all the best in their future endeavors in college and beyond!”
The senior class stood together for the last time on the North Steps of Old Main. Under the shadow of the towering Victorian Gothic building, they celebrated their times together on the Hill—times that will be remembered forever.
