Maverick Three-peat

The MSA Mavericks baseball team won its third consecutive VISAA State Championship Title in Colonial Heights, Virginia on Saturday afternoon. After taking control of the game in the first inning with eight runs, the Mavericks controlled the game and went on to defeat Highland 10-5. Complete coverage of the game HERE.

The victory is MSA’s fourth state championship title in school history, and it marks the culmination hard work and dedication by coaches and players.

While Saturday was a day for celebration, Friday afternoon’s semi-final game against Steward may have been one of the highlights of the season in VISAA sports. Down by ten runs in the fifth inning, the Mavericks went on what might be one of the greatest rallies in MSA sports history.

The MSA baseball program continues to produce remarkable outcomes. It will again be sending numerous seniors to Division 1 college programs in the fall of 2019.
