Mrs. Hixson dispels myths about college life for MSA sophomores.

For sophomores or juniors in high school, thinking about going off to college in a few years can be intimidating and mysterious. There are so many questions to consider. Should I go in state or out of state? Should I go to a big university or a small college? Rural or urban campus? It can be a daunting task to begin considering the next step in one’s academic journey.

Fortunately, at MSA, students have two experienced and caring college placement directors to assist them with the admissions process.

Over the past week, MSA’s Assistant College Placement Director, Mrs. Hixson, has met with the sophomores and juniors to begin a dialogue about the college search and admissions process. Conversation topics included creating an academic and extracurricular plan for the final years at Miller, dispelling common myths associated with the admissions process, beginning the process of learning about and looking for colleges, and identifying potential "match" schools.

Thanks to Mrs. Hixson, the college placement process is a bit less daunting for MSA students.

Students and parents are always welcome to reach out to Dr. Meagher or Mrs. Hixson in the College Placement Office to discuss college options, the admissions process, standardized testing, etc.
