Signing Day for Mavericks

The Bistro is usually a happening place on campus at the Miller School of Albemarle (MSA), often bustling with students hanging out or watching a UVA basketball game, punctuated with the crack of a cue ball sinking an eight ball in the corner pocket. However, on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 19, it was standing room only in this student center, as students, faculty, coaches, family and friends gathered to celebrate five senior MSA students, all varsity baseball players, who committed to playing ball in college.

Ethan Chenault has committed to pitch at University of North Carolina Wilmington; Jack Marshall has committed to play first base at Roanoke College; Garrett Payne has signed to play two-way at NC State University-- pitcher and outfielder; Jordan Peyton has committed to playing at Radford University, also two-way-- pitching and middle infielder; and Jeremy Wagner committed to play center field at Austin Peay State University.
