What are your primary roles at MSA?

I am the Assistant to the Head of School

What made you decide to live and work on the Hill?

I found Miller through a friend that worked on campus. I remember my first time arriving at the hill and immediately falling in love with the campus, the environment, and of course the students!

Most memorable teaching, coaching, or student-life experience?

I started coaching soccer during my second year at Miller and the best memory I have was the first time the team scored a goal. To see all of the students so excited, proud of each other and themselves; it reminded me of why we wake up to do this every day.

If you were not an educator, what would you be?

Is there a job where you get to read and crochet full time?

Favorite aspect of working at a boarding school?

Oh, where to begin! I truly love that the students have a voice, a strong voice. As educators, we often advocate for our students and their needs. Here, students also learn to advocate for themselves and it is truly amazing to see that growth.

Most memorable lesson learned from students at MSA?

The students have taught me not to take life too seriously! And also that infinity scarves are apparently “out.”

Favorite place to go or thing to do on MSA’s 1,600-acre campus?

It’s a strong tie between sports events in Alumni Gym or open mic nights in the Chapel Theater!

Movie you have watched the most times in your life?

Probably the live action Alice in Wonderland. I can quote the whole thing!

Dream trip?

New Zealand! Who wouldn’t want to see where Lord of the Rings was filmed?

Pets?

I have a six year old cat named Squid!

What did you want to do when you grew up (when you were in high school)?

I wanted to be a successful author and poet… maybe someday!
