Ellen Ewell is the Director of Academic Advising and Student Support and coordinates services related to students with diagnosed learning needs. Ewell has a B.S. in Geology from Denison University, and a M.S. from the University of Wisconsin Madison.  When her son was 5 years old, Ewell learned that he had significant ADHD.  She was concerned that his needs would not be met in a local school, so she homeschooled him and her daughter through high school. In that process, she spent many years learning about the suite of symptoms and behaviors that go along with learning disabilities. In addition, she has for many years tutored middle and high school students with learning differences. When Ewell came to Miller School, she began to do academic advising with students needing academic support.  She taught Study Skills classes, English as a Second Language (ESL), and modified classes in History/Earth Science.
