Julie joined the Miller School of Albemarle in 2015, after completing postdoctoral work at the USDA. During graduate school, Julie served as a teaching assistant for introductory biology courses, genetics, anatomy and physiology, and calculus for the life sciences. She played soccer and ultimate frisbee in high school and college, and coached club ultimate while at the University of Maryland. She coaches ultimate frisbee and girls soccer at Miller.
Julie is originally from North Carolina, and attended NCSSM. She earned her B.S. at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and her Ph.D. in Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics (BEES) at the University of Maryland in College Park.
