Camille Culbertson finishes second at National Championships

Camille Culbertson finished second place at Cyclocross National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, December 9. Competing against forty girls from around the country in the 13-14 age group, Camille rode a remarkable race in cold and wet conditions. She narrowly missed taking home the win and the stars and stripes jersey by ninety seconds.

Camille’s strong finish at USA Cycling National Championships comes on the heels of a breakthrough season of racing this fall. In addition to numerous wins in regional cyclocross races, Camille won the overall National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) Junior Varsity title in Virginia and at the East Coast Championships.

Only in the 8th grade, her results are just a glimpse of what the next four years hold for this rising star in the sport. For Camille, MSA’s girls cycling team provides her a full house of role models and teammates to guide her and push her in training and racing.

In addition to Camille, Isabelle Jensen raced in the highly competitive 17-18 field at National Championships and finished an impressive 16th place. In the women’s Professional race, MSA alumna, Katie Clouse, finished second place narrowly missing out on her first professional National Champion title.
