A native New Orleanian, Parrish moved to Nashville, Tennessee after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and is a 2013 alumnus of Montgomery Bell Academy. He graduated from Washington and Lee University as a QuestBridge Scholar in 2017 with a BA in Classics. He was an active member of the Outing Club, rider on the Varsity Equestrian team, and participant in study abroad programs.

Inspired by his former teachers and professors to work in secondary education, Parrish completed the two-year Kenan-Lewis Fellowship at Woodberry Forest School. He taught Latin and Greek, coached mountain biking, climbing, and the outdoors program, and served as a dorm master. During that time, he completed a graduate degree at the University of Virginia, where he received his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in 2019.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys anything from backpacking to trail running to ultimate frisbee, alongside a passion for rock climbing. Parrish will serve on the Residential Faculty and coach the Equestrian program.
