Morgan Arant joined the Miller School of Albemarle community in 2019.  For the past year he worked in Charlottesville at Southern Teachers Agency, and, prior to that, he taught Latin for five years at Germantown High School near Memphis, TN and Ashley High School in Wilmington, NC.  Mr. Arant graduated from Davidson with a B.A. in Classics and received his M.A.T. from the University of Memphis. He loves sharing the Latin language and Roman culture with students and communicating its relevance to our society today.

Outside of the school day, Mr. Arant was sponsor of the Germantown’s Junior Classical League chapter.  He and the JCL members attended the annual state Latin convention, placing as high as 5th in the state.  In addition, he and his students organized and hosted the 2017 fall gathering for Latin programs in the Memphis area. Beyond promoting Latin, Mr. Arant helped create and modify Germantown’s Honor Code and served on the faculty Honor Committee.

Mr. Arant moved to central Virginia from Memphis in 2018 after marrying his wife Elizabeth, a doctor and chief resident in the Internal Medicine residency program at UVA.  In his spare time, Mr. Arant enjoys exploring the Blue Ridge mountains, reading, traveling, and watching the Memphis Grizzlies and Davidson Wildcats play basketball.  He and his wife live in Charlottesville.
