B.A., Columbia University
Ph.D., University of Virginia

Jason joined the Miller community in 2013. He holds a doctorate in English Language and Literature from U.Va., where he taught literature surveys, poetry seminars, composition courses, and public speaking. He has published in Victorian Poetry, and he has presented at several conferences, including one held by the English Faculty at the University of Oxford for the Tennyson Bicentenary. His teaching and research interests include poetic form and theory; logic, rhetoric, and linguistics; and contemporary poetries (such as rap as an art form).

Jason is thrilled to be on the Miller team and to be a part of a community that prides itself on inspiring and fulfilling the total student. Having served as a swim instructor to all ages for various programs at U.Va., Jason helped to start the Miller School swim team and is currently head coach. His service group works with the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, which holds the Festival of the Book each spring. As Director of Academics, he serves as a resource for his fellow teachers in all pedagogical matters, from lesson planning to classroom observation.

Jason lives in Charlottesville with his wife, Liz, and his son, Thomas, and loves spending his time with them. He enjoys running, biking, swimming, and an occasional triathlon.
