Dana Ainsworth earned her BA in Integrated Studies, with a focus on Journalism and Education, from Brevard College. She later earned a Masters of Teaching at Liberty University. In 2016, Dana attended the Transom workshop through Atlantic Public Media to explore the art of audio storytelling. She incorporates these skills into her classroom curriculum, allowing students to create narratives through a variety of outlets. In 2018, Dana spent the summer as a fellow at the University of Oxford for an intensive graduate course in English Literature. As a result of her success in this program, she gave a paper to the English Speaking Union in Charlottesville on empathy in Romantic poetry.

Ms. Ainsworth is an avid traveler and has volunteered internationally through various organizations in Kenya, Malaysia, India, and Australia. She has coordinated and led several student trips abroad. Back home, she deeply appreciates the rich history and beauty of the MSA campus.
