B.A., Denison University
Clay Wawner graduated from Denison University with a B. A. in History, where he was captain of the lacrosse team for both his junior and senior seasons. After graduation, Clay worked in the Outdoor Education field where he led wilderness expeditions in Western North Carolina, Hawaii, Alaska, Tanzania and across Europe.
Since joining the Miller School of Albemarle community in 2013, Clay has taken on a number of roles as the Dean of Students, head varsity lacrosse coach, community service coordinator and a member of the history department. Clay is teaching our Europe and the World history course, as well as a Senior Seminar on Native American Studies.
When he is not in the classroom, or on the athletic field, Clay enjoys fly fishing, whitewater rafting and exploring the outdoors with his wife Maggie and dog Stanley.
