LIBRARIAN

Miller School of Albemarle seeks an experienced and knowledgeable librarian to join our faculty. This position will encompass the following roles: acquisition and management of the school’s digital and print resources; research services and instruction; special projects and programming; student and faculty support; work in conjunction with members of our Student Success Center; assistance with the Library Intern program; overseeing the Writing Center.  

The librarian will be asked to assist with testing and make-up work during afternoon athletics and be a member of a supervisory duty team.

MSA is looking for a professional who is a team player and would enjoy working in the multiple roles required of independent boarding school faculty. A candidate must be an exemplary role model for students in and out of the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in library science.

  • Experience working in a school library.

  • Strong research and writing skills and the ability to teach them.

  • Teaching experience (desirable but not required)

  • A passion for working with young people.

  • Willingness to contribute meaningfully to MSA’s after-school programming.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

 The starting date for this position is August 15, 2019. This is a full-time position, with healthcare and retirement plan benefits.
