Solar-Powered Gazebo Ribbon Cutting

On Monday, May 15th, the Solar-Powered Gazebo on the South Lawn was dedicated in a ribbon cutting ceremony led by project lead Mr. Henry. The Gazebo was planned and built by Mr. Henry’s engineering classes, as well as the engineering club, engineering service group, and a large number of student and faculty/staff volunteers who all dedicated their time and expertise to this amazing community project.

The gazebo features outlets and USB ports to charge computers and cell phones and is powered by solar panels. Classes can even be held in the gazebo (which has already been taking place.)

During the dedication ceremony, Mr. Henry first recognized several students that had shown particular commitment to the project, Penghui  Z., Sharon X., Cenk K., Adam H., and Almero H. and thanked them for their hard work. Mr. and Mrs. France were then asked to come forward to cut the ribbon. Almero expressed gratitude on behalf of the student body for Mr. France’s support for the project and dedicated the gazebo to the Frances.

Thank you to every person who has had a hand in the creation of the south lawn gazebo, it has truly been a community project that all can enjoy.
