MSA Holds First Engineering Open House

KKW_2512kOn Thursday February 25th, the students in the Miller School of Albemarle’s Pre-Engineering Program organized and lead the first ever Engineering Open House.  Over 30 faculty, staff, students, and guests attended the event, which was very well received.  The event highlighted some of the outstanding accomplishments of the Pre-Engineering Program as well as showcasing the science and design/build rooms of Caton Hall.  Some of the exhibits on display were a Aquaponics demonstration by Deja Canter, a Balsa wood bridge by Robert Ramsey, a 3D-printed hand by Lily Kelley-Wagner, and a bicycle-powered generator by Pedro Martins.  Mr. Henry’s model train set and accompanying Popsicle stick bridges were also folded down from the wall and set up for all to enjoy.  Stay tuned for another engineering open house later this spring.
