Morris, Miller, Davis, Sign Letters of Intent

The Miller School had three student-athletes sign National Letters of Intent Thursday to play at the college level.

Jack Morris will play baseball at Liberty University next year.

Morris was voted the VISAA Division II and the VIC Player of the Year last season.

He batted .533 and belted seven home runs.

Morris was planning on walking-on at Virginia Tech, but changed his mind about three weeks ago, and will receive a scholarship with the Flames.

Morris says, “Anybody wants to go to a school and have money thrown their way. It feels better. Going as a Walk-On, you can doubt yourself, because they didn’t give you any money. But (getting a scholarship) just makes you feel good about yourself.”

The Mavericks’ Wynn Miller has signed with Franklin & Marshall.

Miller shot close to 40-percent from three-point range last year.

Teammate Lael Davis will play basketball at the University of Mary Washington.

Davis averaged eight points and almost four rebounds per game last season.

“It was the whole package,” says Davis.  “It was location, education, and basketball program all together. It was just great for me. I’m definitely going to be playing the point guard/shooting guard role. That’s definitely my strong suit.”

Miller says, “Coach Glenn Robinson has the most wins in Division III history. He’s coached 25 All-Americans, and I feel like he can help my game, and push me as far as I want to go.” ~ via NBC26, Charlottesville, Virginia
