Alumnus S. Ross Browne Returns as Spring Honors Judge


KKW_3728kAlumnus S. Ross Browne was on campus Thursday to again graciously judge MSA student artwork for Spring Honors. Mr. Browne is a 1987 graduate of Miller School of Albemarle.  After attending VCU where he majored in Communication Art and Design–and studying Photography at the Corcoran School of the Arts in Washington, D.C.–he has worked as a professional studio artist for over 20 years. 

As an educator, he was the Art Specialist for the VCU Health System where he practiced Art Therapy for and taught art to pediatric, oncology, and elderly patients.  He was also an art instructor at the Smithsonian Institute, and for the Fresh Air Fund in New York City.

His work has been exhibited in over 70 gallery and museum exhibitions, both domestically and internationally, and in the permanent collection of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia.
