Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Miller School of Albemarle. I am delighted that you are viewing our website to find out more about our school. Miller School of Albemarle is one of the nation’s first coeducational boarding schools, founded in 1878. Our mission is to prepare students for college and life in a dynamic, challenging, and supportive environment. Our small size and classroom setting ensures that classes are rigorous, but small enough that students are comfortable taking intellectual risks. Our graduates leave not only prepared for the challenges of college, they leave excited about their future.

There is no substitute for visiting Miller School of Albemarle in person. We are situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains on a 1,600-acre campus. We would be delighted to take you on a tour of our historic academic buildings, introduce you to some of our students and teachers, and answer any questions you may have.

Please use these pages to learn more about the admission process and what makes Miller School of Albemarle a wonderful place to live and study. You are welcome to email me with any questions, request materials, or schedule a campus visit. We offer seasonal Open Houses, or visits by appointment.

Feel free to contact me at shale@millerschool.org or 434.823.4805 ext. 240.  I look forward to seeing you on “The Hill.”
